Orange Logic DAM review: fit, pricing model and integrations

Short answer

Orange Logic is an enterprise DAM platform, sold with media asset management, rights management, brand portals and an AI Agent Studio, that lets customers keep assets on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud storage. Orange Logic fits large organisations with heavy video, archive and rights workloads. Forrester named Orange Logic a Leader in its Q1 2026 Wave for DAM systems, with top scores in ten of 22 criteria.

Facts on this page are verified against vendor documentation and public sources, each linked. Scenario scores publish after the scripted demo round.

What Orange Logic is

Orange Logic is a privately held DAM vendor. The May 2023 Bregal Sagemount release names founder Karl Facredyn as CEO, and a June 2025 release names Brian McLaughlin as President and CEO. Orange Logic press releases carry an Irvine, California dateline. The 2023 Bregal Sagemount investment release calls the platform Cortex, while the 2026 website sells it by module under the Orange Logic name.

The Orange Logic website lists these products and modules.

ModuleWhat Orange Logic documents
Digital Asset ManagementCore asset library, metadata and search
Media Asset ManagementVideo and media workflows
Digital Rights ManagementRights, expiry and restriction controls, dynamic watermarking with encryption
Brand ExperiencesBrand portals for sharing approved assets
Project ManagementCreative collaboration and approval routing
Agent StudioPrebuilt and custom AI agents with access to metadata, rights and workflow status
InfrastructureStorage on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, Media Bridge for local storage, cold storage tiering

Orange Logic launched For Teams in May 2026. For Teams packages DAM, MAM, Brand Experiences and Corporate Archive so one department can start before an organisation-wide rollout. Orange Logic states that teams then add teams or modules without replatforming.

Where Orange Logic fits

Orange Logic fits the DAMSelection segment of enterprise content platforms, which serves global organisations with many brands, regions, integrations and content operations needs. The enterprise multi-brand shortlist groups the candidates in that segment.

DAMSelection assessment: Orange Logic fits best when video, archive and licensed content sit at the centre of the library. The storage model also suits buyers whose cloud contract or residency policy dictates where files live. The table sets out the conditions.

Buyer conditionDAMSelection assessment
Large video and media libraries with rights attachedOrange Logic fits; test MAM and rights modules on your own footage
Storage must stay in your own AWS, Azure or Google Cloud accountOrange Logic fits; confirm who holds the storage contract
One department needs DAM first, with group rollout laterFor Teams fits; price the expansion path upfront
PIM-driven product imagery is the main jobThe product content segment may fit better; the Fit Map records level 3 connectors only
Small marketing team needing a brand portal in weeksThe brand and marketing DAM segment usually fits better

The guides on video asset management and rights management explain the requirements behind the first row.

How Orange Logic covers the core DAM jobs

Orange Logic documents capabilities for all four core DAM jobs, with AI agents spread across tagging, rights checks and routing. The list uses vendor pages only.

  • Ingest and renditions: Orange Logic states automatic formatting, cropping, transcoding and translation per channel. Policy-based tiering moves cold assets to Amazon S3 Glacier, with restore on demand.
  • Metadata and search: Agents tag assets with the customer's taxonomy and brand language. Users search in plain language, by voice or by describing a scene, and the system suggests similar assets for reuse.
  • Workflow and rights: The platform detects faces, logos and rights, flags expired or restricted content before use, and routes assets for sign-off. AI-generated and AI-enhanced assets are tracked.
  • Distribution and sharing: Brand Experiences portals share approved assets, and agents can route approved assets to teams or platforms after rights and compliance checks.

Orange Logic reports the highest possible Forrester score in ten of the 22 criteria in the Q1 2026 Wave. DAMSelection assessment: test each of these on your own assets, because analyst scores carry no evidence about your files and metadata.

Product content and PIM integration

Orange Logic lists its connectors on the Orange Logic Marketplace. The PIM and DAM Fit Map records Orange Logic connectors for inRiver, Salsify and Stibo STEP at level 3: listed in a marketplace, built by a partner or with no developer named. The Orange Logic Marketplace names partner Avyre as developer of the bi-directional Salsify connector and names no developer for the inriver listing. DAMSelection has not yet verified a PIM connector built by Orange Logic itself. For creative teams, the marketplace lists an Orange Logic plugin for Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, plus a Figma plugin.

Buyers with a PIM in scope ask Orange Logic four questions before the demo:

  1. Which PIM connectors exist today, and who builds and maintains each one.
  2. Whether the connector syncs assets only, or metadata and product links as well.
  3. Which API endpoints a custom integration uses, with rate limits per environment.
  4. How a rights expiry in Orange Logic reaches the PIM and the channels it feeds.

Hosting, security and contract checks

Orange Logic documents a cloud-agnostic storage model and names its compliance frameworks, and buyers confirm the details in contract. The infrastructure page lets customers choose AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud for storage, or connect local storage through Media Bridge.

The security page states GDPR, HIPAA and FINRA compliance. ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 appear as audits of controls, with no certificate published on the page. The infrastructure page names no hosting regions and no uptime SLA.

Confirm these items in writing, using the security review guide.

  1. The certificate or report behind each named framework, with scope and audit period.
  2. Where the application, search index and AI processing run, separate from asset storage.
  3. Who holds the cloud storage contract and pays egress and restore fees.
  4. The uptime SLA, service credits and recovery time objective.
  5. The sub-processor list, including any model provider used in Agent Studio.

What to test in a scripted demo

Orange Logic makes specific claims about AI search, rights detection and storage choice, and the demo tests each one on your assets. Build the script with the demo script guide.

  1. Load 50 of your own video files and show transcoding, scene-description search and tagging against your taxonomy.
  2. Apply a rights expiry to a licensed image and show the flag in search, download and the brand portal.
  3. Show face and logo detection on your assets, then show how an admin corrects a wrong match.
  4. Build one custom agent in Agent Studio that checks a brand rule, and show its audit trail.
  5. Move 1,000 assets to cold storage tiering and restore one, showing the time and the cost line.
  6. Set up a For Teams instance and show the steps and data moves needed to add a second module.

Pricing questions to ask

Orange Logic publishes no price list on its website, so the quote itself answers the cost drivers. Its AWS Marketplace listing shows one contract option: a 36-month Orange DAM contract at USD 600,000, with overage fees billed on top.

  • How licences are counted: named users, roles, modules or asset volume.
  • Whether storage sits on the Orange Logic bill or on your own cloud account.
  • Egress and Amazon S3 Glacier restore fees, and who pays them.
  • How AI agent runs and connected models are metered.
  • The price of moving from For Teams to an organisation-wide licence.
  • The renewal uplift cap and contract length.

DAMSelection assessment: storage, egress and AI consumption drive five-year DAM cost more than licence fees. Model all three in the TCO calculator before comparing quotes.
