Vendor Pulse: the monthly DAM market briefing

Short answer

Vendor Pulse is the monthly DAM market briefing from DAMSelection. Each issue records releases, price changes, acquisitions, analyst reports and end-of-life notices across the 30 tracked DAM vendors, and every item carries a date and a source the editors opened. The first issue covers news up to mid-October 2026.

What each issue covers

Vendor Pulse covers five types of DAM market news, chosen because each one changes a buyer decision.

Item typeExamplesWhy buyers care
ReleasesNew modules, AI features, connectors, API changesChanges what a demo can show and what a rating should be
Price changesNew packaging, new tiers, AI credit rulesChanges five-year cost and renewal terms
Ownership changesAcquisitions, mergers, divestments, renamesChanges roadmap, support and contract counterparty
Analyst reportsWave and quadrant publications, market studiesShapes vendor claims buyers will hear in demos
End-of-life noticesDeprecated APIs, retired products, migration deadlinesSets deadlines for integrations and renewals

Buyer research and major DAM conferences also appear when they publish findings with a named source.

How an item gets into Vendor Pulse

Vendor Pulse accepts an item only when it meets five sourcing rules.

  1. The editors opened the source page and checked the item against it.
  2. The item carries the date of the event or the publication date of the source.
  3. Primary sources come first: vendor documentation, release notes, official press releases and analyst report pages.
  4. Figures from a vendor press release carry the label "company-reported".
  5. Rumours, unnamed sources and sponsored content never appear.

If a month brings little verified news, the issue publishes fewer items. The briefing never pads an issue to reach a set length.

How each item is written

Every Vendor Pulse item follows the same format, so readers can scan an issue in a few minutes.

  • Date: the event date, or the publication date when the event date is not public.
  • Vendor: the name as the vendor writes it.
  • Type: one of the five item types.
  • What happened: the fact, written plainly and sourced.
  • What it means for buyers: a DAMSelection assessment, labelled as such.

Each issue lists its sources at the end. The methodology page defines the labels Fact and DAMSelection assessment.

How Vendor Pulse feeds the rest of DAMSelection

Vendor Pulse items trigger updates elsewhere on DAMSelection, so profiles and datasets stay current between quarterly reviews.

Item typeWhat it updates
Ownership changeThe vendor Passport and the DAM Market Map
ReleaseAI capabilities and integrations on the vendor profile in the vendor directory
Price changePricing notes on the profile and context for the DAM Pricing Index
End-of-life noticeWatch-outs on the profile and the renewal playbook

A major product change can also trigger a re-score under the scoring model's evidence rules.

Issues

Vendor Pulse publishes one issue a month, and the archive on this page lists every issue in order.

The October 2026 issue opens the series. It records AI assistant connectors from several vendors, agent-based governance launches, an AEM API removal deadline and the Forrester Wave for DAM Systems, Q1 2026. The November 2026 issue follows next month.

Submit an item

Vendors and readers can send a Vendor Pulse item through the corrections process, with the primary source and the date.

Submissions follow the same sourcing rules as editor research. A vendor submission gets no priority, placement or extra length. The neutrality policy applies to every issue.

How to use Vendor Pulse in a selection or renewal

Vendor Pulse helps buyers in three moments: shortlisting, demo preparation and renewal.

  • Before shortlisting: check each candidate for ownership changes and end-of-life notices in the last 12 months.
  • Before demos: add recent releases to the demo script, so vendors show them on your assets.
  • Before renewal: check for price changes and deprecations 180 days ahead, as the renewal playbook advises.

The DAM Shortlist Engine gives the starting list to check.

Frequently asked

Where can I find DAM vendor news?

Vendor Pulse is the monthly DAM vendor news briefing from DAMSelection, covering the 30 tracked vendors. Each item records a release, price change, acquisition, analyst report or end-of-life notice, with its date and a source the editors opened. The archive starts with October 2026.

How often is Vendor Pulse published?

Vendor Pulse publishes once a month. Each issue covers news since the previous issue, and the first issue also carries earlier 2026 items that set the baseline. If a month brings little verified news, the issue is shorter; the briefing never pads to a fixed length.

Does Vendor Pulse publish vendor press releases?

Vendor Pulse uses vendor press releases as sources for what a vendor announced, and it never republishes them. Each item restates the fact in plain words. Figures from a press release carry the label "company-reported", because no third party has checked them.

Can vendors submit news to Vendor Pulse?

Vendors can submit news through the corrections process, with a primary source and a date. Submissions follow the same rules as editor research and receive no priority or extra length. A submission that lacks a public source does not appear.

How does Vendor Pulse treat analyst reports?

Vendor Pulse records analyst reports as facts about what the analyst firm published: the report title, the date and the vendors named. Sources are the analyst firm's own pages or vendor releases that quote the report. The DAMSelection scoring model stays separate, and analyst placements never change a DAMSelection score.
